Policy and Protocol of BCC for Illness and Any Highly Contagious Disease.
In response to concerns around the H1N1 flu, we have contacted the Sonoma County Health Department. The well being of your child is first and foremost in our minds.
Their guidelines are much the same as our illness policy has always been:
· Parents are asked to not bring a child to school if s/he has the following symptoms: fever, body aches, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. If parents suspect that their child might be symptomatic, the child should stay home. Children are required to be symptom free for 24 hours.
· If a child presents any of the above symptoms at school, s/he will stay in the office until a parent or caregiver is able to pick him/her up. Please be prepared with a back-up plan if you are unable to leave your work.
· If the child has a highly contagious disease, such as H1N1, measles, staph infection etc, and it has been confirmed by a physician and other testing, as needed, parents should call the school immediately.( If this occurs during the weekend. Please call Kathy at 887-7014. ) The child will be eligible to return to school when released by the physician and in conjunction with the Public Health Dept.
· If there is a confirmed case of a highly contagious disease, the Children’s Center Director or next person in command will call the Sonoma County Public Health Dept. They will advise us as to the emergency precautions which may include school closure. If the school is required to close, in order to protect the students, families and staff, please be advised that tuition will still need to be paid .
Being vigilant on hand washing and following guidelines of the http://www.cdc/h1n1flu/qa.htm will help to keep all our families at the highest level of prevention.
We continue to pray for healthy and happy families |

Thank you to all the families who so generously gave to the food organization FISH. The children came one by one with their food item and placed it in the basket in the front of the Church sanctuary. The smiles on their faces gave meaning to “love your neighbor”. Pastor Stephanie and Pastor Brian lead joyous singing with guitar accompaniment. Tom Ziegler, representative from FISH thanked the children and took all the food to be weighed and distributed. |

The sinks are ready to be installed. Please help defray the expenses by purchasing “a soap” from a bubble on your child’s classroom door, then write your child’s name on the bubble. $20 from each family will make hand washing a breeze especially in the morning because we will have nine sink stations. WOW! Thank you for your support |
